this simple salad is popular in the mountains of lebanon during the summer when tomatoes are ripe and fresh.

step 1. cut your tomatoes into rings slightly on the thicker side. I like to turn them on their side to get that beautiful vertical cross-section.

step 2. arrange your rings on your favorite serving platter in any design you prefer.

step 3. next, go ahead and apply dollops of toum in the center of each ring.

step 4. for final touches and an extra hint of sour, top each dollop of toum with a pinch of sumac to garnish, and enjoy!

how many servings does each jar make?

shawarmaji toum is crafted with fresh ingredients and should be refrigerated upon delivery. we guarantee a minimum two-week shelf-life from date of arrival for full flavor experience. toum can technically last a month in your fridge, but the chef recommends consuming within two weeks so before the flavor is compromised. shawarmaji maintains a strong commitment to more responsible sourcing and flavors created with cultural integrity, which means our products contain no preservatives, no artificial flavors, and no high-fructose corn syrup.
